How to Get Seen Without Selling Your Soul or Burning Out
Putting the word out there about your products or services can feel complex.
I love online launches, but depending on the type of launch strategy, they can take a month or two to create.
If you’re excited about the process, it won’t feel hard. But not everyone is a weirdo like me who geeks out on online launches.
Have no fear if you’re more keen on spontaneous quickie types of strategies that put your business in front of the right people.
They have their place. And you could make 100K (or more) with a simple strategy.
No matter which strategy you choose, it should energize you. This is a non-negotiable.
If it doesn’t make you crazy inspired, it’s not the right strategy. (Promise.)
I’ve got 5 out-of-the-box visibility strategies that feel more like play… and will still attract 5-Star Clients.
- Share Your “Unpolished” Process
Instead of waiting until something is perfect to post it, share what you’re working on before it’s done. Yep, the half-baked version.
Let people see behind the scenes. Ideal clients eat this stuff up!
Post a note from your journal. (My longtime coach frequently does this.) Screenshot your Canva mess before it becomes a masterpiece. Share an excerpt from your book, program, or product.
Visibility doesn’t need to impress; it just needs to connect. And people LOVE seeing how the magic gets made.
In the old days, you wanted to be polished on the internet. Now, being real is what people react to.
- Teach the Weird Thing You Thought No One Would Care About
Instead of following the herd in your niche, share that one quirky belief or shortcut you secretly swear by.
During several of my biggest launches, I taught free workshops on my “speed dial the universe” process straight out of the journal I sell. My fear was that it was too woo-woo to be valuable as a webinar for a program that taught business skills.
I was wrong. I sold tens of thousands of dollars during those webinars!
Do you have a 3-minute morning mindset shift that flips your whole day? A totally made-up way to pick your next offer? Do you have a time hack that saves you 30 minutes a day? What about a secret smoothie blend?
Your weird stuff will attract fans and buyers.
- Host a Micro Challenge (Even If You Only Have 20 Followers)
Many entrepreneurs wait until they have a big audience to run something cool.
But if you host a 3-day challenge in your DMs, stories, or email list (even if it’s just friends), you’ll gain new followers and clients. Plus, it’ll boost your confidence to just do it!
Just keep it simple. You could give a prompt each day, then ask people to respond, tag you, or share insights.
Start small and you’ll ramp up fast.
- Answer the Question You Keep Avoiding
Maybe you’ve been hiding your superpower or your past. Why not say the thing your audience is already wondering out loud?
A consultant I’ve followed on social media for years launched a highly anticipated book, then disappeared in the middle of the launch. When she came back online, she let her (very big) audience know she’d had a breakdown and was diagnosed as bipolar.
I appreciated her candor so much, I went from fan to superfan!
I openly share when a marketing strategy tanks.
You could share things like…
“Here’s how I price my offer and why.”
“This is what I did when no one booked last month.”
“Here’s how I cheat to paint a masterpiece in one hour flat.”
Share the stuff you’re afraid might make you look less pro. That’s what makes you accessible, real, and magnetic.
Truth creates trust.
- Make Your Own Series
It can be challenging to come up with fresh ideas every day. Try choosing one theme and post about it every day for a week.
You could literally just do a one-minute video, one-minute podcast, or write a one-paragraph lesson each day.
Pick something you care about and go all in. It becomes a reason for people to tune in and keeps you out of content confusion.
Even easier… choose a theme you geek out on. Heck, maybe you could do a month-long series!
The most important thing with visibility is to be consistent and be yourself. Your people don’t need more polished perfection… they just need you.
Pick one of these and run with it this week. I’d love to know how it felt.
Hi Jeanna
Thank you for your honesty and earthiness. I think I might have been intimidated by other coaches and their successes. I had coached before Covid and charged next to nothing even though my clients had great successes. I decided to resume coaching at the suggestion of friends and former clients.
I am ready to embrace my purpose in life and earn the six-figure income I deserve.
Thank you for your uplifting training!
Much love
Phyllis
