It’s easy to make business way harder than it needs to be.
But what if you could make the tasks, projects, and strategies that trigger overwhelm or procrastination easy?
What if you could cut through your resistance?
Of course you can. So, snap out of poor-me mode and take back the reins.
If you want results without the headache, you’ve gotta learn how to work with yourself, not against.
Here’s how I make “hard” easier (and more profitable):
1. Decide it gets to be easy.
Most people expect struggle. You have to decide that’s not your story. I have to flip stories in my business every day, from what I know to what’s possible.
Example: Before writing a sales page, I ask, What would make this page fun and fast to write? Sometimes I journal first. Maybe I use a template. I ditch the “this will take forever” energy… and lean into the task.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
Where in my business am I unconsciously expecting things to be hard? What would shift if I decided this gets to be simple?
2. Shrink the size of the task.
Big vague goals = overwhelm. Deciding your next micro move = momentum. (Plus, taking any size action surges your endorphins. And it attracts the inspiration to take more micro actions.)
Example: Instead of “create my new offer,” I start with “outline 3 to 5 juicy results my clients want.” Tiny moves build speed and clarity.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
What’s one big goal I’ve been avoiding because it feels overwhelming? What’s the smallest possible next step I could take toward it today?
3. Stop playing lone ranger.
Doing everything solo is a slow, exhausting strategy.
Example: I hire people to set up tech, create graphics, even send my email broadcasts (I write ’em, they proof and format). If you can pay someone 100 bucks to save you 10 hours, that’s a wise investment, not an expense.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
What tasks am I holding onto out of habit, fear, or control that I could easily delegate or ask for help with? Who could support me?
4. Get your energy in check FIRST.
Your headspace state determines everything in your entire world. If you just jump into the next steps without deciding the ultimate end outcome and how you want to feel while in action… it won’t be a happy ending.
Example: When I feel stuck, I take two minutes to visualize the project done. I tap into the feeling of ease and making the project 5-star. THEN I take the next step.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
What’s the easiest way to reset my vibe before taking action?
5. Create your own rules.
Just because others did it the hard way doesn’t mean you have to. Set a new precedent. Invent a new way.
Example: Instead of building a huge webinar funnel, maybe you do a few livestreams to sell out your program. Simple and still effective.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
Where am I choosing a complicated route because it feels more “legit”? What would be the easiest, most direct path to my desired outcome?
6. Leverage your people.
Ask your audience, team, or biz friends for input. Ask AI for a simpler way. I always begin with my inner guidance. (Also known as Inner Business Expert!)
Example: Can’t decide on an offer name? Post two options on IG Stories. Crowdsource. Decide in 10 minutes instead of obsessing for 3 days.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
What decisions, ideas, or creations am I overthinking that I could get quick feedback on from my audience or biz friends?
7. Let go of perfection.
B+ work launched today beats A+ work stuck in draft mode. A client just made me realize I forgot an entire section in one of my program modules that we launched last year. That means hundreds of people have seen it and didn’t say a word.
Example: I’ve also sent emails with typos that still made sales. Perfection doesn’t make sales… your energy does.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
Where is perfectionism slowing me down in my business? What’s one imperfect action I can take today that’d move me forward?
8. Celebrate tiny wins.
Small victories snowball into big results. The more you acknowledge the good things, you attract more things.
Example: After sending one follow-up email, I acknowledge it: “Look at me go, taking aligned action!” Sometimes I decide I’m a badass just for writing a clever subject line. That self-recognition builds momentum for your next move.
🖊 Journal Prompt:
What small win or aligned action have I accomplished this week that deserves to be celebrated?
You’re not always gonna feel pumped to tackle the hard stuff in business. So you just have to begin with intention, then back it up with a teeny move.
When you expect ease, you magnetize solutions.
P.S. The fastest path is rarely the hardest one. Let your inner GPS lead you to easier moves.
