Entrepreneurs are obsessed with timelines.
By now, I should have launched.
By now, I should have more clients.
By now, I should’ve finished that damn funnel.
Sound familiar?
This toxic obsession with “by now” will eat your confidence alive. It tricks you into believing you’re failing when, really, you’re just living real life. Not some perfectly planned productivity fantasy.
“Behind” is a made-up measurement. There’s no gold star for being on someone else’s schedule. There’s no finish line you’re missing. There’s only this moment and how you choose to show up for it.
And if you let making moola decide what you put on your plate…
you may find yourself closer to scarcity… instead of abundance.
When it really matters and you’re leading from your inner guidance, you’ll always be perfectly on time.
Sure, things can take longer than you expect. (Especially when you’re doing a 5-star job.)
Curveballs come in hot.
Your energy shifts.
Priorities move.
You grow. You change. You learn.
That doesn’t mean you’re behind. That means you’re evolving. And maybe (hopefully!) it means you’re letting your inner guidance decide what you put on your priority list… instead of your inner task master.
Instead of spiraling, try this:
- Cut the comparison. Their pace has nothing to do with your path. Stay in your lane and own your rhythm.
- Get honest about what matters. Not six months ago. Not someday. What’s essential to your well-being in this moment?
- Treat your work like it matters. Even if it’s not flashy. Even if no one sees it yet. Create like time isn’t running out—because it’s not.
- Stop finishing things just to finish them. Completion for the sake of checking boxes is empty. Do the thing like it has weight. Like it’s part of your bigger mission.
You’re building something real.
And that takes guts, presence, and patience—not speed.
So, if you’re feeling “behind,” consider this your permission slip to drop the shame and remember:
You’re not late. You’re right on time.
