Because being in charge should feel like you’re in charge, righhhht?
Be honest with yourself.
You didn’t start a business so you could work longer hours than you did in your 9 to 5.
You didn’t do all this inner work just to become the boss of an even meaner boss (aka, yourself).
You didn’t come this far just to live by some unspoken productivity rulebook you never agreed to in the first place.
So my challenge to you…
Do what you want, when you want, for the next 14+ days.
I mean it.
Doing this for just one day would be great, but it wouldn’t create lasting change.
You’ve gotta do it for long enough that your inner control freak tries to intervene, and you pivot out of overachiever and over productive mode.
We’re talking about intentionally choosing pleasure over pressure.
Obligation is an illegal word in this challenge.
This challenge isn’t about blowing off your business. (People often make that assumption when I first introduce this challenge. You’ll actually start making smarter moves that require less energy.)
You do it to break the addiction of over-efforting and worry.
You do it because you want to prove to yourself that worth, pleasure, prosperity, and clients don’t come as a result of working your tushy to the bone.
Do this challenge because you want to…
- Build trust in divine timing.
- Create from abundance, not obligation or scarcity.
- Attract clients who dig the relaxed you (not the stressed-out version).
- Run a business that energizes you instead of draining you.
When you live in alignment with what you truly want in each moment… abundance overfloweth.
Your business will finally feel like what you always imagined it could be.
The Rules (LOL, There Are None)
You get to decide how long this challenge lasts, but I recommend a minimum of 14 days, but you can stretch it further if you’re feeling brave.
Why This Is a Real Challenge
Most entrepreneurs say they want freedom…
… but they’re still afraid to take an afternoon off.
They secretly believe that if they stop doing, clients will disappear.
They still equate value with output.
They’re terrified that too much pleasure is irresponsible. (As if!)
And THAT is what this challenge is designed to disrupt.
You’re not checking out and hanging out in la-la land. You’ll be more tuned in than ever!
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:
- Set Your Pleasure Window
Pick your start and end dates. Declare them. Then decide you’re in the challenge. Minimum of 14 days, and more if you’re ready to upgrade your entire being and business.
- Follow Desire Daily
Each day, ask: What do I want to do in this moment?
Then do it. Even if it’s midweek. Even if it means saying no to something that used to feel like a “must.”
- Observe Festering Freak-Outs
Notice if your worry wart voice has something to say. You might feel guilt, panic, or scarcity. This means you’re upleveling. It’s normal. Just remember that anything that feels scary is fear… and fear is a liar. Inspiration and excitement are truth from your soul.
Let your old identity know that you don’t have to suffer to succeed.
Beyond any moments of freak-outs, you’ll start to notice …
- Clarity about how you want to run your business
- Reconnection with the offers that light you up
- Proof that clients don’t disappear when you relax; they come in droves
- Pleasure is a practice, not a someday reward
- How good it feels to trust yourself to lead from intuition
This challenge is a radical business move. It takes guts to stop operating like a machine and step away from fear.
Do what you want, and watch everything fall into place.
Love it!!
This challenge seems like an event worth being on to help me love and trust myself.
Jeanna, this comes at a time I really need it. I have been considering closing my business because it is feeling so much like a grind with all the pleasure of it gone.
So, I will take this Challenge for 30 days, 7/1 through 7/30 and on 7/31, evaluate how I feel.
Thank you again.
P.S. I love Shasta Lake. My son and daughter in-law live in Shasta Lake City. Enjoy your Summer Vacation!
So Jeanne, first there was “flow” and now the “Do What You Want Challenge.” Both of these seem deemphasize the need to do any of the “busy work” that I think is essential to keep clients informed an happy. I have some good momentum in my business right now. If I take a couple of weeks to “do what I want” and not follow up on ALOT of things, I fear I will lose that momentum. I have lofty goals for the rest of the year and I feel like I need to double down on deals that are in the works rather than ease off the gas pedal. Can you shed some light on this? Thank you!
