I’d heard about 6- and 7-figure launches for years. I dreamed of making that much money in a short time frame, but the ins and outs of pulling off that kind of launch felt totally out of my league.
I’m just a business coach, not a marketing wiz… so why try?
My marketing mentor told me I could totally pull it off and I wouldn’t stress out if I planned well.
So, I did what every coach who wanted to reenergize her business would do. I said, “What the heck, I’ll do it!”
Less than a year after that decision, I pulled off my first six-figure launch, and my bookkeeper informed me that my profit—yes, profit!—had increased 83% for the year!
And guess what? I loved it, all of it.
Here are my “wish-I’d-known-that” secrets no one ever mentioned before I did my six-figure launch.
Secret #1: Launches spark creativity… and FUN!
Nobody mentioned this to me because most people don’t have fun during their launch. They’re only focused on making money fast and then stress themselves out. I made my focus about mastering areas of my business that I had shied away from previously.
If I knew it could be this creative and fun, I’d have tried an online launch yearssss earlier than I did.
Secret #2: It changes who you are as a business owner.
I became more confident, smarter, and bolder. Heck, I’d do a launch just for this reason alone. Launching is a huge personal growth experience.
Secret #3: Block out lots of time during and after your launch for customer service for your potential and new customers.
I didn’t have salespeople on my team, so it was me helping potential clients evaluate whether my program was a good fit for them. I was juggling that huge demand, plus teaching classes, coaching, and trying to hang at my mom’s lake house with the kids. It was truly energizing but also a bit nutty.
Secret #4: Be flexible.
Even with the best-made launch plans, you’ll want to change things during your launch, sometimes on a daily basis, based on results, and feedback.
It’s not bad to change strategies in the middle of a launch; it’s smart if your inner guidance is nudging you to do it.
Secret #5: Your team needs to be on call to help.
You’ll have a surge of activity during that one- to three-week launch period. Marketing, tech issues, customer service, affiliate requests, and all sorts of stuff you don’t normally deal with all at once will be happening in a big way. If you don’t have a team, contract someone with launch experience to help you the month before and during your launch.
Look, launching is exhilarating. People love the value they receive from all your free content, so you’ll get tons of positive feedback and build your email list at the same time. Plus, it’s super crazy fun to make a pile of money in a short amount of time.
Launching was the most fun I’d ever had in my business in the first 16 years! If you want to get known, make a massive difference, and attract big money this coming year, plan a launch!
