When something just doesn’t feel quite right in your business or blows up (in a bad way), most people want to tighten their grip. They move into “control” mode.
They double down on strategies that no longer fit, or they fall into a stress spiral.
They continue to say yes to things that are long past their expiration date. Things that no longer inspire them.
Things that probably suck up a lot of time and don’t deliver moola or joy.
The fear of rocking the boat can feel scarier than being stuck.
But I see every plot twist as a clearing process.
A sign that the old way needs to be removed so you can receive clarity about what’s next.
Articulate and keep your eye on the 5-star outcome.
So, the faster you move away from resistance and start listening to what’s in your heart, the sooner the clarity comes.
What does a plot twist look like in your biz?
- You realize that the high-ticket thing you’re launching doesn’t light you up anymore… but you’re moving forward because “it works.”
- You feel resentment toward a longtime team member or collaborator, but convince yourself to keep them around because they’ve been “loyal.”
- You’re halfway through creating a course that already feels outdated, but you keep going because you’ve sunk time and moola into it.
- You commit to a JV partnership that looks great on paper but feels off in your gut.
Consider these invitations from your higher self to pivot into something better. Much better!
So, what do you do when the twist hits?
- Acknowledge the friction.
Stop gaslighting yourself. If something feels wrong, it probably is. You don’t need more proof than that. If you ignore the feeling… don’t worry, it’ll get bigger and blow up in your face. - Audit everything you’ve said yes to.
Look at your calendar, your offers, your partnerships, and your expenses.
Ask yourself:
- Is this a 5-star choice?
- Is this aligned with where I’m headed or who I used to be?
- Am I staying out of love, fear, or habit?
- Release one thing.
Unplug from the offer you’re forcing. Pause a launch. End a contract. Cancel a plan.
You don’t need to burn it all down to start clearing the path. One “no” can create massive energetic momentum. - Don’t wait for a perfect replacement.
Let go first. The clarity will follow. Waiting for the full plan before making the cut is how people stay stuck for years.
Plot twists can look messy on the surface. And I know that not having a clear plan and solutions can be anxiety-producing.
But if you can surrender to the situation instead of resisting it, something far more aligned, profitable, and sustainable will show up.
So if it’s not a full-body yes… it’s probably time to make a shift.
What’s one thing you’re ready to clear off the table right now?
Because that’s where the next chapter begins.
Embrace the plot twist to arrive at your happy ending.
