Confusion is a Choice

Being confused, unclear, overwhelmed or broke are choices. But who the heck wants to hear that?!

I was coaching a business team recently and asked the group, “What do you need to step into, that will take you to your personal edge? What is something you want to experience more fully at work?”

The answers varied:

  • Confidence
  • Being direct
  • Take charge of sales calls
  • Make an impact
  • Influencing and managing without nagging
  • Redirect conversations that are going off track
  • Make friends with paperwork (stop resisting it)
  • Discipline

Next, I coached each team member on what their specific desire is, that will allow them to be their most powerful selves. What would cause them to step FULLY into their “beingness”? What skill will bump up their mastery in their business?

Hit the Jackpot with a Book, New Product/Service Launch or Grand Opening

When you have a grand vision of your book hitting best seller status or the new product launch making thousands upon its release, self imposed pressure to ‘knock it out of the ballpark’ can be hazardous to your success. It can also be hazardous to your health. I’ve even seen how the stress can negatively impact the overall success of an entire business.

But wait! Don’t give up those ideal outcomes for your pet project. Just be smart about how you go into it and never ever play by someone else’s rules for success.

I’ll make this simple with a list of my do’s and don’ts. I am not an expert in book sales (although Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction is printed in four languages and has been bought by thousands). I’m also not an expert on specific how-to’s that bring in millions on a launch or grand opening (I’ve done thousands in a launch but not six or seven figures, yet!).

However, I’m an expert at setting people up to win with their specific model and I’ve seen them nail their expectations on their first time out of the gate.

Don’t:

Set a deadline or launch date that is too close for comfort. It’s smart to coordinate your timing with other promotions or holidays but if it’s going to make you sweat and hurry through the process, it’s not worth it. Stress kills creativity like a snail in a cup of beer.

Do:

Give yourself more time than you think you need to plan, create and implement. Things will pop up that you hadn’t thought about and you’ll need time to fill in the blanks without being frantic. Your team needs time to handle marketing and technical issues that need trouble shooting. And everyone needs the freedom to work on the project when they’re inspired not because the clock is ticking. Feeling spacious with time let’s you do the job in excellence. Excellence is attractive.

Getting to the Nitty Gritty of Your Solution

I caught myself being insane, and yet I kept doing the same thing over and over. My web goddess has used a Facebook plug-in on my website so people could comment and ask questions once they watched one of my training videos. I promised on the page that I would be responding daily and now I couldn’t post on the page. I kept getting an error message. Argh.

I kept trying different settings on my Facebook profile and it still didn’t work. Stop the insanity, Jeanna. Finally, I let it go. I began softening my focus around finding the solution. It felt so much better than growling at my computer. I vowed that I would not push any more buttons until I got advice from the Facebook guru herself, Mari Smith, or one of the social media ninja’s in the class I’m taking with her.

The intention was set: I will easily attract my solution before the masses begin promoting the video training.

In less than an hour of posting my request for help to Mari’s group it was fixed. I’m not even sure exactly what I did to fix it. But what I do know is that the social media ninjas took me in a direction that I would’ve never focused on. They had me tweak settings on my internet browser. I was previously tweaking settings on Facebook.

Most business owners have a similar reaction to this, when something isn’t going their way. They try to dissect the problem and then turn their brain inside out pushing to find the answer … fast. There is a time and a place to get into the nitty-gritty of a problem and it’s not when you’re feeling angst.

Ideal Customers Come with a Variety of Budgets

I’m sure you’ve sat down and thought long and hard about who your ideal customer is, right? You’re intimate with their problems and how your company can provide the best solutions. You know their age range, what they do for a living and how much they’re willing to pay for your amazing products and services.

But do you really know them?

Over the years, I’ve been hit upside the head in shock when people who have no job, a mountain of debt and a brand new business will pay a premium price to do one-on-one coaching with me. I’ve also shook my head in disbelief when someone who seems to be a prime candidate for my services says “no”, because of the price.

What have I learned about who will buy and not buy? That it’s a timing issue.

Pushing for Profits with a Capital P

I admit it. I’ve had plenty of freak out moments about money during my fifteen year adventure as a coach. It doesn’t matter that I teach and breathe the ins and outs about the Law of Attraction, I still get ticked off when I can’t produce the results I need and want.

The real kicker is when I look back on how I was feeling before the profits dwindled. It’s always so obvious how I created my underwhelming results. I was Pushing for results. I was probably somewhat aware that I didn’t feel confident about nailing my results at the time, but didn’t take any time to course-correct how I was feeling.

I just kept pushing forward.

I watch the same process happen to the business owners I coach. By the time they have an acute awareness that they’re pushing for their profits, it’s almost too late. They’re already in a cash crisis, sicker than a dog (where did that phrase come from?!), and frazzled.

You may be thinking that you don’t push for results. Maybe you call it something else, but I’d bet money that you do it. Whatever you call it, it doesn’t feel good when you’re doing it. And it always can be boiled down to one thing…disbelief.

The White Noise Phenomenon

If you’re a deliberate creator on any level, you know that your thoughts and emotions produce the results you experience in your life. Yes, you create it all. And often you co-create with the many people that surround you.

Consciously making choices in your business to use the Law of Attraction to help you do the “hard” work can be a very satisfying game.

  1. Clarify what you want in your business
  2. Line up your emotions and thoughts with the desire
  3. Fully trust the process

It really is that simple. So why aren’t more business owners experiencing growth, enjoyment and massive profitability?
